Lalita Barma, who runs a paint shop near Mahendra Bridge of Pokhara, failed in her suicide attempt after she got stuck in a gabion wire below the bridge after she took the plunge. [break]
A group of NA men from Naya Gorkha Battalion, Pokhara took almost half an hour to rescue the girl. According to Superintendent of Police Rabindra KC, the 26-year-old girl is reportedly mentally challenged, and that she has been taken to Western Regional Office, Pokhara for treatment.
Meanwhile, Lalita´s father Baidyanath has said that his daughter had a minor dispute with him just before her suicide attempt.
Lalita was married to a resident of her home district Nawalparasi a few years ago. But, of late she had been spending more time in Pokhara than in Nawalparasi.
