BHAKTAPUR, June 6: The CPN (UML), the second largest party in the Constituent Assembly (CA), has decided to adopt maximum flexibility to forge consensus on the disputed issues of the new constitution.
A Standing Committee meeting of the party that took place at party Chairman KP Sharma Oli's residence, Balkot, ended with this agreement, according to party Secretary and Publicity Department Chief Yogesh Bhattarai.
The party is expected to hold interparty and multi-party meetings with all of the political parties to seek a way out to the stalled constitution drafting process.
No more than six provinces based on country's geography and identity of the people is the party's view regarding the restructuring of the state, he added.
Responding to queries on the matter of national consensus government, UML secretary Bhattarai underscored the need of national consensus to what he claimed to draft the constitution soon, carryout effective management of post-disaster situation and ensure the holding of local poll. RSS
