SARLAHI, Dec 31: Two people were killed when a tractor and a motorbike collided at Nayaroad, Shanti Chowk at Barahathawa Municipality-9 in Sarlahi district last night. The tractor (Ja 1 Ta 9876) carrying sugarcane was heading towards Harion while the motorcycle (Ja 4 Pa 377) was going towards Barahathawa. Both the youths who died in the accident were traveling on the motorcycle.
Police identified the deceased as Harindra Mahato and Purushottam Das, both a resident of Rajuchowk, Barahathawa-5.
Critically injured in the mishap, Mahato died while undergoing treatment at the Barahathawa-based Advance Sanjeevani Hospital and Das breathed his last under treatment at Vayodha Hospital in Birgunj.
