UDAYAPUR, Jan 27: Police have arrested two men on the charge of attempting to rape a 22-year-old woman at Triyuga Municipality-2 Gaighat in the district.
According to Udayapur District Police Chief SP Narbahadur KC they have taken hold of Sachin Pariyar and Dipen Pariyar following complaints of attempted rape filed at the police station by the victim Pinki (name changed) and her relative on Tuesday night.
The perpetrators who were already hiding in Pinki's house tried to advance toward her while she was going to bed at 10 pm on Monday, SP KC quoted the victim as saying.
Ganga Pahadi, Pinki's neighbor said the perpetrators were arrested while they were hiding in a tent house 50 meters west of the incident site near Babarani movie hall.
Sachin and Dipen had been arrested for their involvement in critical activities earlier, too, police said.
According to SP KC they have started investigation into the case after taking them under control. The mother-of-three (two sons and one daughter), Pinki's hushand Shiv Shankar Sah has been serving a jail term at Udayapur detention center for investigation.
25-year-old Sah was jailed on the charge of trafficking a girl one year ago, said his elder brother Upendra Sah.
Injured in the attack, Pinki has been receiving treatment at Udayapur District Hospital, police told Republica.
