Getting there
Lele village is located south of Kathmandu approximately 12 kilometers from Patan. Though there are two main roads which lead to Lele, either via Champi or Chapagaun, since both of these places have to be reached through the Ring Road area, you may have to bear some traffic.

Another good alternative would be to ride to Chapagaun then make a detour on a connecting road to Badikhel and eventually Lele, covering approximately eight kilometers. Eventually both the roads lead to Anandaban Leprosy Hospital. Then, you can follow the road till you reach the township.

Chandra Shekhar Karki

Like with many small settlements around the Kathmandu Valley, Lele has several historical and cultural significances; the famous Hindu temple Tika Bhairab being one of them. Lele is a lovely small village to explore, dating back to the medieval Lichhavi dynasty kings, with many artifacts dating back to the Lichhavi period.

The village is also one of the least explored places as not many tourists traverse these paths. This small village makes you feel like you’re stepping back into time, with very little markings of modernization. With the monsoon rains, the landscape looks beautiful with emerald green rice fields and farming activities.

Avid riders and thrill seekers can continue to the far end of Lele from Tika Bhairab, which is approximately a four kilometer ride on a dirt track through a lush forest that passes above the Lele valley. From there, you can also continue riding on to reach Godavari by taking a right turn or take left and get back to Chapagaun.
