JANAKPURDHAM, Dec 4: The supplies of meat products and alcohol have been prohibited in the Janakpurdham area beginning 12:00 am on Thursday in view of the Sitaram Bibaha Panchami festival.
The District Administration Office, Dhanusha issued a notice on Wednesday, banning the supplies of meat, fish, and liquor until the next three days. The order shall come into force until the midnight of December 7, the day when the festival concludes.
The week-long Bibaha Panchami festival commemorating the union of Princess Sita and Lord Ram in Treta Yug (Vedic era) is celebrated with gaiety and religious fervor in Janakpur.
