KATHMANDU, Dec 24: Legendary singer Prem Dhoj Pradhan will be honored with the Bindhyabasini Lifetime Achievement Award on Friday. The award will be conferred to him during the 6th edition of the Bindhyabasini Award at the Army Officers' Club in Sundhara.
Pradhan will receive a cash prize of Rs 51,151 along with the award. According to the press release announcing the award on Wednesday, the singer is being respected for his long time contribution to the music industry.Artistes will be conferred with awards in a total of 31 different categories in the ceremony.
The Bindhyabasini Arts Journalism award, which has been bestowed for the last two years, will be presented to Krishna Bhattarai. Journalist Bhattarai will also receive a cash prize of Rs 25,525.
Similarly, the Bindhyabasini Sangeet Ratna Award will be given to popular singer Rajesh Payal Rai along with a cash prize of Rs 15,515.
Eight-year-old Saugat Bista, who made headlines as the world's youngest film director, for directing 'Love You Baba' back in 2013, will also be felicitated at the awards ceremony. Bista will receive Rs 10,001.
