KATHMANDU, June 7: A campaign named 'Run to Rebuild Nepal' has been organized in nine different countries to raise funds to support the victims of April 25 earthquake.

According to a press statement issued by Adventure Sports Nepal, the organizer of the campaign, it has so far raised $ 3000 from the campaign.

"The event will also be held in Kathmandu in near future and the proceeds from the program will be spent for the welfare of quake victims in association with PRAN Nepal, a nongovernment organization. Rebuilding schools and houses in Khumbu area will be the primary focus of the campaign," said Shikhar Pandey of Adventure Sports.

The run campaign has already been conducted in India, Japan, Belgium, United States, Germany, France, South Africa and Israel. According to Pandey, the campaign will take place in more than half a dozen of countries in future.

Pandey said the campaign has raised funds mainly by organizing voluntary runs in various parts of the world under the banner of Run to Rebuild Nepal. "Running for a cause is a powerful tool in persuading and pulling attention of the people. We are using social media platforms to generate funds," Pandey echoed.
