KATHMANDU, Jan 11: On the occasion of the 303rd Prithvi Jayanti and National Unity Day, President Ramchandra Paudel garlanded Prithvi Narayan Shah's statue in front of the West Gate to Singha Durbar in the capital today, amidst a special program.
King Prithvi Narayan Shah is credited for initiating the unification of Nepal with the support of all castes and communities.
A contingent of the Nepali Army offered a guard of honour on the occasion.
