Police head constable and his wife caught red-handed while taking bribe of Rs 400,000 in Rupandehi

BUTWAL, Oct 16: A police head constable along with his wife was held on the charge of taking a bribe of Rs 400,000 in Rupandehi on Friday.

A team from the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) caught Head Constable Shiva Chandra Sahani and his spouse Nirmala Kewat red-handed when they were receiving the bribe money from a service seeker.

According to information officer at the CIAA’s Butwal office, Suresh Bhusal, said that the duo was held from a sweet shop at Siyari Rural Municipality-7 when they were taking the bribe money from the service seeker for settling a case.

The CIAA has launched further investigation into the matter.
