Poisonous mushroom kills two in Dhankuta

DHANKUTA, July 8: At least two women died and other three fell critically sick after consuming poisonous mushroom in Teliya VDC-1 of Dhankuta district Tuesday night.



Police inspector Durga Prasad Dahal said those deceased were mother in laws Phool Maya Tamang, 65 and daughter in laws Amrit Maya Tamang, 45.



Police said they died on the way to District Hospital while bringing for treatment. Seriously sick grand daughter Sarmila Tamang, 11 is undergoing treatment at BP Koirala Health Science Foundation, Dharan and grand son Tek Bahadur Tamang, 10 and grand father Chan Bahadur Tamang, 75 are being treated at the District Hospital, Dhankuta.



Police inspector Dahal said after the rise in death toll due to consumption of poisonous mushroom District Police Office is going to begin public awareness campaign against poisonous mushroom from today.
