MADHYABINDU, Feb 1: A bus and a four-wheeler Electric Vehicle (EV) Hiace collided in Dumkibas Jungle, Nawalparasi (Bardghat–Susta East) on Saturday on the East-West Highway, resulting in the death of an Indian citizen. Nine others were injured in the accident.
A 40-year-old man named Shankar from Medinipur, West Bengal, died in the collision between the passenger bus and the EV Hiace near the Division Forest Office in Dumkibas, Binayi Triveni Municipality-1.
Chief of the District Police Office (DPO), Nawalparasi (Bardghat–Susta East), Superintendent of Police (SP) Yadav Dhakal confirmed that nine other passengers in the Hiace were injured.
The bus, with registration number Ra 1 Kha 3361, was traveling from Kathmandu to Dang, and the EV Hiace, with registration number Pra 01–006 Kha 7808, was traveling from Butwal to Kathmandu when the collision occurred.
The police reported that all passengers in the Hiace were from Medinipur, India, and they are receiving treatment at a local hospital.
