KATHMANDU, Feb 24: The recommendation committee of Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has invited applications for the post of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the stock exchange.
The Recommendation Committee published a notice on Monday to fill the post through open competition and has invited applications for the post of CEO.
Interested candidates who meet the eligibility criteria will have to apply to the Financial Sector Management and Institutional Coordination Division of the Ministry of Finance within seven days, that is, by March 2. A business plan will also have to be submitted along with the application.
A person with at least a master's degree in economics, commerce, finance, management information technology, commerce or law, a chartered accountant or equivalent degree, and at least fifteen years of work experience, including at least seven years of experience working at a senior managerial level in the capital market or financial sector or management-related work, will be eligible to apply for the CEO position.
The application fee has been fixed at Rs 7,500. Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel had formed a three-member committee on Sunday to appoint the CEO of NEPSE.
A recommendation committee has been formed under the coordination of Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Sebantak Pokharel, with Joint Secretary Amrit Lamsal and Dr Khom Raj Kharel as members.
The Council of Ministers will appoint the CEO based on the recommendation of the committee. The post of CEO at NEPSE has been vacant for about three weeks. The term of the previous CEO Krishna Prasad Karki ended on February 6.
