BIRATNAGAR, July 11: Two people were killed on the spot in Morang district in separate lightning incidents on Wednesday.
The deceased have been identified as Shivaji Yadav, 55, of Biratnagar Sub-metropolitan City-22 and Bikram Gurung,22, of Budhnagar-2.
According to Uma Prasad Chaturbedi, spokesman at the district police office, Yadav was killed being hit by a bolt of lightning while was working in the paddy field. An ox has also been killed in the incident.
Gurung, a worker at the Jogbani road-based MM Plastic factory, died on the spot in a similar mishap that happened while he was returning home from work on his bicycle, the police official said.
