KATHMANDU, Sept 24: Nepali Congress lawmaker Khamm Bahadur Khati has urged the government formed after the Gen Z movement to work with new ideas and approaches in line with public expectations.
Speaking during the special hour of the National Assembly meeting on Thursday, Khati said people had high expectations from the government and urged it to deliver on its promises.
He said the government had failed to meet public expectations on good governance and controlling corruption.

“Citizens still face cumbersome procedures in government offices. Good governance is easy to talk about but difficult to implement in practice. The law must apply equally to everyone, and questioning the government should not be viewed negatively,” Khati said.
He stressed the need not only to formulate sound laws but also to implement existing laws effectively. He said people now wanted results rather than procedures and urged the government to work accordingly.
Khati also called for representation from the National Assembly on the special committee formed by the House of Representatives to oversee the government’s response to the Bhotekoshi flood disaster.
