KDAO imposes two-month ban on protests and gatherings in various areas of  Kathmandu

KATHMANDU, March 10: The Kathmandu District Administration Office (KDAO) has issued a prohibitory order in some areas of the capital city. Government authorities issued the prohibitory orders for two months starting Monday, March 10.

KDAO issued a prohibition order in areas around the President's Office, Sheetal Niwas in Maharajgunj, Lainchaur, Singha Durbar, Baluwatar, and the Parliament Building in New Baneshwor. This order prohibits gatherings of more than five individuals for protests such as hunger strikes, rallies, and meetings in these areas.

“An order has been issued prohibiting the gathering of over five people and holding protest programs such as hunger strikes, sit-ins, encircle, processions, demonstrations and meetings in the mentioned area for a period of two months, effective from March 10,” reads the order issued by the Kathmandu's Chief District Officer Rishi Ram Tiwari.

Similarly, the order states that if government, public, and personal property are damaged due to the protest program, the organizers will be responsible to recover the compensation amount.
