KATHMANDU, June 4: Dubsmash is the new talk of the town. The Dubsmash fever has hit the globe and Nepal is experiencing the fun associated with the popular app as well. One video posted in 'Nepalese FB Got Talent' page in Facebook has over 5,000 'Likes' and has been shared almost 800 times.
The noodles jingle gets an entertaining new look, with two young boys presenting a fun 10-second video. They do it so well that the audience have taken to asking for their names so that they can look up other videos of the duo.
Created by Jonas Drüppel, Roland Grenke and Daniel Taschik from Germany, the video recording app was officially launched on November 19 last year. Only one week later it became instantly popular, 'a number one hit' in Germany, according to co-founder Grenke. It has gained a wide following in over 190 countries.Dubsmash allows you to select a sound of your choice, whether it's a song, a particular dialogue from a film, or a jingle. Then you can record a video of yourself (selfie style) singing or enacting a popular scene while lip-syncing the words to that dialogue you absolutely love. Be a dubber. It's pretty easy to use. Just choose the sound you want, record yourself over it and share with friends. The good thing is, the videos you've recorded aren't uploaded automatically. So you have the option to keep it to yourself or share it with the people you want.
The app is a perfect way to spend your leisure. If you and your friends are getting bored with nothing to do, grab your phone and start recording. You can either search for a sound you want or add your own. To add a sound, you have three options; record it, get it from iTunes or from your stored sounds in the phone. Next, add three tags which will make it easy for others to find the sound. If you have more than one sound then create a soundboard where you can add similar sounds, like funny sounds in a soundboard named 'Haha' or 'Hilarious'. Your other soundboard can have only
Bollywood quotes or songs and be named aptly.
Dubsmash is so popular that it is currently the top 8th and 9th free app in iTunes and Google Play Store, respectively.
Stars all over the world also love this app and they've created fun 10-second videos. From Kevin Hart and Adam Levine to Ashley Benzo and Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha, Dubsmash is all the rage these days.
It is Jyoti Rai Gurung's new form of entertainment, too. Jyoti, who is studying in Australia, got to know about Dubsmash through a friend. "And my Facebook newsfeed was also inundated with Dubsmash videos. Once I tried it, I found it to be really fun and entertaining. I like that I can use it to mimic various actors," she says.
She has already uploaded two videos on Facebook for which she has received good feedback from her friends. In the videos, she has taken clips from Kareena Kapoor's 'Jab We Met' because she loves the actor's work in the film. So whenever she has spare time and is alone at home, she taps on Dubsmash and begins entertaining herself.
