Deuba panel leading

KATHMANDU, March 12: Majority of candidates leading in the vote count for the  Nepali Congress Central Working Committee are from the Sher Bahadur Deuba panel.

While vote counting for 40 posts is underway, 24 candidates from Deuba and 16 from Paudel panel are leading the counting. Earlier Farmullah Mansoor was elected central committee member under Muslim reservation quota from the Deuba-led panel.

Deuba panel candidates have been leading in the all categories including open, dalit, indigenous ethnic community, and Madhesi till Friday evening. Of the total 61 seats, vote counting for 25 open seats, 5 Dalit, 5 indigenous, and 5 Madhesi seats are underway. Under the open category, 14 candidates from Deuba panel and 11 from Paudel panel were leading the counting when the counting closed at 7 pm Friday.

Shekhar Koirala from Paudel panel has secured the highest number of votes by Friday evening. A total of 653 votes out of 3,148 have been counted by Friday evening. Khum Bahadur Khadka, Prakash Man Singh, Pradip Paudel, Bimalendra Nidhi, Balkrishna Khand are leading in the vote count.

Three from Deuba panel and two from Paudel panel are leading under the indigenous ethnic comminity category when 700 votes were counted by Friday evening. Bahadur Singh Lama and Mahadev Gurung from Deuba and Chinkaji Shrestha from Paudel panel are leading under the indigenous open category. Similarly Sita Gurung from Deuba and Ratna Sherchan from Paudel panel are leading under the indigenous women category.

Under the Madhesi category, three from Deuba and two from Paudel panel are leading. Ajay Kumar Chaurasiya and Mahendra Yadav and Parbati DC Chaudhary from Deuba panel and Ram Krishna Yadav and Kiran Yadav from Paudel panel are ahead.

Similarly four from Deuba and one from Paudel panel are leading under dalit category. Jeevan Pariyar is sole leader from Paudel panel to be in the top three positions under dalit open category. Min Bahadur BK, Man Bahadur BK, Laxmi Pariyar and Sujata Pariyar are leading under the dalit category.
