SINDHUPALCHOK, Aug 17: A 13-year-old girl found hanging inside a chicken coop two days ago was reportedly murdered by her fellow workers at a restaurant in Kakani of Nuwakot district.

Malati Tamang, of Madanpur VDC-9 in Nuwakot, was murdered by two of her own fellow workers, said Dipak Kumar Kharel, a deputy superintendent of police and the Nuwakot police chief, on Friday.[break]

The police have arrested Junga Bahadur Tamang, 19, of Phulbari VDC in Nuwakot and Nitesh Tamang, 20, of Madanpur VDC-9 of the same district, in connection to Malati´s death. The two worked at Himali Rainbow Trout Restaurant where Malati was also employed.

Junga and Nitesh, who were nabbed by the police on suspicion, later admitted to the crime during the interrogation.

Junga told the police that he killed Malati by strangling her following a minor dispute. “When she did not listen to my instructions, I got so furious that I killed her,” DSP Kharel quoted Junga as telling the police.

Later, Junga, with the help of Nitesh, hung Malati´s dead body inside the coop to mislead the police.
