Three, among those injured, had sustained serious injuries but are out of danger now, said Rautahat´s Superintendent of Police Pitamber Adhikari. “All the injured passengers are out of danger,” he said. “The preliminary investigation into the incident is already on,” he added.
The bus was chockablock with passengers when the bomb exploded in the back.
The injured are receiving treatment at district hospital. The Abay Singh-led Tarai-Madhes Mukti Morcha has owned up responsibility for the blast.
The Morcha´s Ranbir Singh told local journalists by phone that the explosion was carried out on the eve of a strike called by the group. Meanwhile, there was another explosion at the Women´s Development Office in Gaur Friday. No one was injured in the blast.
