In recent times, the Nepali music scene has seen a rise in indie, lo-fi songs/music created by urban youths. These songs are often independently produced and tend to be more personal than those dominating the mainstream. One such artist, trying to make a name in this small but well-loved music scene, is Oasis Thapa.

The Boys is one of those series that had a perfect timing. Arriving just when we were getting off the high of End Game and the dark reality of Joker, it first sounded interesting and entertaining. Some warned me of its dark humor. But accustomed to shows like Black Mirror and Rick and Morty, I thought I was prepared.

There aren’t many places in Kathmandu that sell or tailor formal wear for women. And a few years ago, when Shrija Shrestha went out shopping for a formal blazer to wear to her workplace, she had to roam around half the town before she found one she could make do with. As someone who has always enjoyed dressing up in formal wear, this frustrated Shrestha and right then, she planned to launch her own formal wear store for women in the future. So now, Shrestha has finally gotten around to this plan of hers and launched Ambassador—a formal wear hub for women.

In January this year, me and my friends embarked on a trek to Mardi Himal base camp, on the laps of Mardi Himal and Machhapuchre. The trek started from Dhampus and we went through many lush forests, while getting to enjoy amazing views of Annapurna (south), Hiuchuli and Machhapuchre mountain range.

During the Panchey days, it was a badge of honor for our netas of today to be in prison for being courageous enough to fight against the system. They did suffer a lot and were always in danger of being killed by the state. Today, the story is different. We, the people, cannot speak against the same honest netas of yesterday who are now corrupt savages. Instead, when our courts send our netas to prison, our cadres go crazy as if we were sending an honest and respectable person to prison. And when our netas are released, our cadres go crazy once again as if one of our own had gone to mars and have come back home as a hero.
