KATHMANDU, April 22: The agitating Madhes-based parties have agreed to participate in the upcoming local election if the constitution amendment bill in parliament is endorsed with some revisions as agreed during a meeting held between the two sides on Friday.

KATHMANDU, April 22: The Election Commission (EC) has sought details from two ministries--Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Peace and Reconstruction-- over the releasing of billions of rupees to conflict victims and former Maoist combatants. The the ministries have been accused of making preparations to release an estimated Rs 16 billion for conflict victims and ex-Maoist combatants in a move to influence the upcoming local elections.
