Lockdown likely to be extended until May 4

KATHMANDU, April 26: The government is considering extending the nationwide lockdown for another week, until May 4, in a bid to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

KATHMANDU, April 26: Nepal Family Party (NFP) has announced to distribute 100 quintals of rice in relief to those badly affected by the prolonged nationwide lockdown enforced by the government to contain the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). A meeting of the party's Central Work Performance Committee held in Kathmandu on Saturday  made a decision to this effect.

KATHMANDU, April 25: The main opposition Nepali Congress has urged the government to increase resources and provide guardianship to fight and keep all Nepalis at home and abroad safe from coronavirus.

KATHMANDU, April 25: A meeting of the high-level government committee for the prevention and control of coronavirus in Nepal has decided to extend the suspension of domestic and international flights until May 15. Earlier, the flights had been halted until April 30.

KATHMANDU, April 24: While ‘cautioning’ the government not to make controversial decisions that vitiate an environment of consensus amid national effort to fight against coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic,  the main opposition, Nepali Congress (NC), has thanked Prime Minister K P Oli for withdrawing the two controversial ordinances introduced a few days ago.
