KATHMANDU, May 28: An Indian play ‘A Quiet Desire’ written and directed by Feisal Alkazi and performed by the Ruchika Theatre Group was staged at Army Officer’s Club on Sunday. The play featured actors like Jaipreet Singh, Smita Mazumdar Rajaram and Armaan M Alkazi on the lead while Nandini Sra, Radhika Alkazi, Averee Chaurey, Nikhil Murali and Ashish Dhameja as the narrators.

Born in a village of Morang, Prabin Khatiwada is one of the versatile personalities in the acting field today. He entered Gurukul Theater in 2004 and has worked as an actor in about 30 theater plays and productions including a dozen of Nepali movies. His acting career began with working as an actor in Abhi Subedi’s ‘Fire in the Monastery’. Apart from acting, Prabin has so far directed plays on Henrik Ibsen’s ‘Hedda Gabler’, ‘Sar jameen’, ‘uh kasko’, ‘Mahadev ko baazi’ which has been played in many national and international theaters.

The makers of ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’ had to approach the Film Certification Appellate Tribunal (FCAT) once again after the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) was dragging its heels to grant a certificate to the film. Now the censor body has been directed to certify the movie within a week. The FCAT issued an order in this regard on Friday, read a statement issued on behalf of the film’s makers.
