EC limits election spending for parties, candidates

KATHMANDU, Oct 3: The Election Commission (EC) determined the ceiling of electoral spending for political parties/candidates on Sunday.  The maximum limit of electoral spending was fixed based on the existing law, number of voters in constituencies, number of polling centers and area.

KATHMANDU, Oct 3: The Election Commission (EC) has fixed today as the deadline to withdraw the candidacies of those named in the proportional closed list.The time for submitting the revised list was fixed till yesterday.

KATHMANDU, Oct 2: The Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) has indicated that it will leave the ruling five-party coalition.A JSP executive committee meeting held on Saturday indicated that it will leave the alliance. The meeting said that the current discussion regarding seat distribution for the upcoming election is not satisfactory and has decided to coordinate with other parties as an alternative to the alliance, and if that is not possible, will contest the election alone.
