Glimpses of Germany

As one of the major hubs in Europe, Germany offers many interesting opportunities for photography. But it’s not always easy to take pictures due to privacy concerns. In the beginning, I was excited to take pictures as easily as I did in Nepal. But, in no time, I realized it was going to be a lot more complicated than that. I had taken a picture of a supermarket building in Berlin to sell via stock images. The stock image company denied to put it up online because the building was a private property.

The business venture AKUJ was founded back in 2008 and they started off with officially distributing Illy coffee – an Italian coffee brand that is shipped worldwide – in Nepal. Till date, they are the sole distributors of Illy coffee in Nepal. Sometime later, in 2013, they opened up a supermarket to accompany their coffee-selling business. However, the AKUJ team felt that the Gairidhara area in Kathmandu seriously lacked a good food hub so they decided to scrap out their supermarket and open up an eatery at the same place. So, Deli AKUJ was launched in 2015.

Graffiti or murals, for a while now, have been a huge part of the emerging art culture. While earlier we used to see a graffiti or two at a few streets across town, now we can spot one almost everywhere we go. Sometimes we see the artists hard at work in the scorching sun and watch in amazement. We might click a few pictures or tell our friends about a certain mural that caught our attention but we seldom, if ever, find ourselves wondering about the artist whose names often get lost in a corner of the life sized art.

Reading has long been a popular culture, but it’s in only recent years that Nepal or Kathmandu, in particular, has embraced this culture with open arms. This has resulted in an emergence of avid readers who flock the shelves of bookstores and voraciously devour one book after another. Joining the bandwagon is a generation of young readers whose reading choices are varied and thus interesting.

His success wasn’t the result of sheer luck or fortune but the willingness to work hard and live life with the motto, ‘work is worship’.

sunburn hacks

Sunburns are fairly common during the warmer season when our arms and legs are generally exposed. While minor cases of sunburn will not be that hard to tackle, there will be times, every now and then, when you get such severe sunburn that your skin is left red, damaged, and hurting. And in the worst-case scenario, your skin literally starts peeling off and bleeding. Sometimes, putting on a sunblock might not be enough especially when the sunrays are as harsh as they are at the moment. You have to take some precautions and stay sun safe.
