Sajha Party loses luster in Itahari Sub-metropolis; gets only 181 votes

ITAHARI, July 7: Sajha Party, which took part in the first phase of local election as a debutant, emerged largely successful in the capital, despite all the odds.
Likewise, it took part in the second phase as well. Sajha Party fielded candidates in some places of Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City.
According to the vote count results on Friday morning, Tara Kafle of Sajha Party garnered 181 votes for the mayoral post.
Coordinator of the party Rabindra Mishra had decided to field candidates in Itahari after securing a significant number of votes in Kathmandu and Lalitpur. But, Sajha Party faced a humiliating defeat in the elections of Itahari.
According to the vote count, deputy-mayoral candidate Prakash Chandra Pariyar garnered just 171 votes.
A total of votes of 57,476 were cast in 20 wards of Itahari Sub-metropolitan City on June 28.
Teacher by profession, she has a bachelor’s degree in environment, population and human health and Doctorate in Community Medical Health from Kashi Hindu University.
And, Pariyar is a journalist. He is also the member of Central Coordination Committee of the party.
Deputy-mayor candidate Ruja Ghimire of Chure Bhawar Loktantrik Party did not get a single vote in Itahari. She is the only candidate who did not get a single vote.
Mayoral candidate Ram Prasad Regmi of Chure Bhawar Loktantrik Party garnered just 8 votes. Likewise, Independent mayoral candidate Panalal Chaudhary got 22 votes.
Similarly, mayoral Candidate of Khumbuwan Rastriya Morcha Machindra Rai garnered 85 votes, informed the Election Office.
Likewise, Mayoral Candidate of Federal Democratic National Forum Indra Bahadur Kandangwa got 416 votes.
Independent candidate Padam Tamang under the leadership of Mohan Baidhya of CPN (Revolutionary Maoist) got 124 votes.
Mayoral candidate of Nepal Pariwar Dal Seeta Devi Dhakal got 84 votes and Bal Kirshna Subedi of Rastriya Janamorcha garnered 36 votes.
Rastriya Prajantantra Party (RPP), Loktantrik Forum Nepal, Federal Socialist Forum Nepal (FSFN) among others could not get the votes as per the expectations.
According to the election results, Independent candidate of deputy mayoral post Sobhawati Chaudhary got 11 votes, Narayan Dahal got 13 votes, Kamala Khatiwada 91 votes, Bhadra Kumari Rai of Khumbuwan Rastriya Morcha garnered 87 votes, Ashok Kumar Chaudhary of Pariwar Dal got 168 votes and Gopi Maya Limbu of Sanghiya Loktantrik Rastriya Manch got 428 votes.
