KATHMANDU, May 27: A Standing Committee meeting of the ruling CPN-UML Thursday evening decided to take maximum initiatives to forge consensus among political parties on extension of the Constituent Assembly (CA) term, according to CPN-UML leader KP Oli.
Coming out of the meeting, CPN-UML Chairman Jhala Nath Khanal expressed his hope that there would be an agreement among parties on term extension on Friday. [break]
"Tomorrow political parties will extend the CA term unanimously," Khanal told journalists after the meeting.
In the meantime, Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has appealed all the political parties, including the UCPN-M, to vote for the government bill seeking the extension of the CA term.
He, among other leaders, is due to address the parliament meeting on Friday before the voting on the bill.
