BIRGUNJ, March 14: The Terai Madhesh is celebrating Holi festival on Friday. To ensure a peaceful and organized celebration, traffic police have set up checkpoints at 167 locations in Madhesh Province and are conducting strict vehicle inspections.
To ensure an organized and peaceful Holi festival and reduce traffic accidents, the Patalaiya Traffic Police Office has launched a special security plan across all eight districts of Madhesh.
Special security plan has been implemented from March 12 to March 15, targeting the Holi festival.
According to a source, the traffic police have taken strong precautions on highways and in district headquarters. This year, the Patalaiya Traffic Police is specifically monitoring activities such as carrying three people on a motorcycle and driving vehicles recklessly or without proper registration.
A total of 432 traffic police personnel have been deployed across all eight districts of Madhesh Province.
The traffic police is taking action against individuals who drive recklessly, carry three people on a motorcycle, fail to wear helmets, or engage in unruly behavior during the festival. The Office is also conducting mobile patrols, QR team operations, and surprise checks.
