KATHMANDU, July 16: The talks between the government and the agitating government employees´ trade unions concluded inconclusively on Thursday evening.
“We have agreed to hold further talks on Friday,” said Ganesh Basyal, Chairman of Nepal Government Employees´ Organization.
Earlier, they sit for the meeting after the civil servants obstructed Singha Durbar, the nation´s main administration area, for three days.
The government was represented by Minister of Finance Surendra Pandey, Minister of Irrigation* Bal Krishna Khand and Minister of General Administration Rabindra Shrestha. The civil servants were represented by six leaders from the civil servant unions including Rukma Lamichhane, the president of Maoist-affiliated civil servants union.
The talks began after police released all the agitating civil servants arrested on Thursday morning.
