Silent period to begin from today midnight: What not to do?

KATHMANDU, Nov 23: The silent period for the first phase elections will begin from today midnight in 32 districts.

Today is the final day for publicity of the First-Past-The-Post (FPTP) electoral candidates of the House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly elections.

The EC spokesperson Nabaraj Dhakal said that the political parties, candidates, representatives of the political parties, independent candidates, civil society leaders, voters and the media are not allowed to indulge in any of the polls related campaigns once the silent period begins.

The silence period will remain effective for 48 hours until the voting starts.

Spokesperson Dhakal added that the publicity campaigns will continue in 45 districts for the second phase of elections scheduled for December 7.
