Rupandehi lift school T20 cricket trophy

KATHMANDU, July 12: Rupandehi lifted the First School Level Men´s National T20 Cricket Tournament defeating Dang 2-0 in the bowl out in the final played at the LAB School Ground in Kirtipur on Sunday. [break]



The match was decided in bowl out after rain disrupted the match. Rupandehi, who were chasing an 85-run target, were at nine for the loss of three wickets when the match was stopped due to rain.



For Rupandehi, Ikhlaque Ahmad and Bal Bahaudr Thapa out of four players, hit the stumps successfully while all four bowlers of Dang missed.



Earlier, Rupak Nepali of Dang struck 31 off 45 deliveries with three hits to the fences and a six before being trapped lbw by Bal Bahadur Thapa. Likewsie, Ramesh Thapa collected 16 off 24 with a four and a six to help his team amass 84 runs in 19 overs losing all the wickets.



Man Bahadur Thapa had three wickets for Rupandehi while Susan Bari and Ikhlaque Ahmad had two scalps each.
