Seventy-two-year-old Asta Ratna Shakya is from Bhaktapur. He has been selling peanuts, dry fruits, snacks, cigarettes and bottled water near Siddhipokhari for 20 years.
Since he lives alone, he completes all his household chores himself before heading out for work. A regular customer at Shakya’s stall said he was a familiar face in the area, and always cheerful with his customers.
