Addressing the sixth anniversary of NT Friday, Pokharel said the NT had failed to function as per the expectation of its subscribers. He also wondered why the share price of NT was not increasing in the secondary market even though the company is earning impressive profit. [break]
“Share prices of companies that are earning less profit that NT is high in the secondary market,” Pokharel said.
Expressing dissatisfaction at slow service delivery by NT staffers, Pokharel said it is high time that the NT lowered it rates and launched aggressive marketing campaigns.
Amarnath Singh, managing director of NT, announced 50 percent discount on SMS charge from March 6 to April 12 on the occasion of NT´s anniversary. He also announced Rs 900 waiver on installation of landlines during the period.
NT has also halved video call charge on 3G prepaid mobile to Rs 5 per minute and Rs 4 per minute on 3G postpaid connection during the period.

Technical snag during anniversary celebration
NT subscribers, who were anticipating special offers from NT on its anniversary celebration, instead faced network problems.
Most of mobile connections and even landlines went haywire due to sudden disruption in power supply following short circuit at NT´s Mobile Service Directorate in Jawalakhel.
Jiban Ratna Shakya, Director of Mobile Service Directorate, said the problem first emerged at 9: 15 am and lasted for four hours. He claimed that the network problem was fixed by the afternoon.
