NMA team reaches Chitwan

KATHMANDU, May 24: A seven-member team of the Nepal Medical Association (NMA) has left for Chitwan to find out facts about the whereabouts of Executive Director of BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital, Dr. Bhaktaman Shrestha.



The team headed by NMA Chairperson Dr. Kedar Narsingh KC includes Nepal Bar Association Chairperson, Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) General Secretary, among others. [break]



The NMA had given the government an ultimatum of 72-hour to make public the whereabouts of missing Dr. Shrestha, yesterday. The NMA also warned the government to shut all medical institutions across the country for an indefinite period.



The administrative works of medical institutions will be entirely halted though all services will be provided to patients till next notice, according to the NMA.



Dr. Shrestha is out of contact since May 18.
