KATHMANDU, Jan 14: The second international friendly match scheduled to be held between the Nepali national women´s football team and Kuwait on Tuesday has been cancelled, according to media reports. Nepal had defeated Kuwait 8-0 in the first friendly on Saturday.
Host Kuwait on Monday cancelled the second match citing players´ injuries. Meanwhile, Egyptian referees who were to officiate the second match have returned home. [break]
Nepal´s coach Kumar Katwal said the team was disappointed to return home without playing the second friendly as they were ready to play the match. Kuwait´s coach Mohamed Rafi said his side was unable to play as his players are injured.
"We have a limited number of players," Rafi said.
Meanwhile, ANFA Spokesperson and Vice-president Lalit Krishna Shrestha said he was unaware of the match cancellation, while ANFA President Ganesh Thapa could not be reached for comments.
