KATHMANDU, July 23: The Korea chapter of Non Resident Nepalis Association (NRNA) and Society of Nepali Students in Korea (SoNSiK) are jointly organizing an international workshop, Power Nepal 2009, in Seoul on July 31. The workshop is being organized with an aim of bringing together investors, engineers, scientists, experts and policy makers in the field of hydro-power and energy development of Nepal. "It is expected that the workshop will play a vital role in linking the energy experts from the two countries and eventually contributing to the economic development of Nepal," states a press release issued by the International Coordination Council of NRNA on Thursday. The Nepali Embassy in Korea has supported the workshop. Given the existing situation of hydropower development and the government´s proactive policies, there is growing interest of Korean investors and project developers in power development in Nepal.
