KATHMANDU, Oct 4: Nepal Army lifted Pepsi Standard Chartered T20 National Cricket Tournament on Friday as it defeated defending champion Nepal APF Club by five wickets at the TU Cricket Ground, Kirtipur.
Army, which made its debut in the domestic cricket from this very tournament, restricted APF at 112/7 in allotted 16 overs. The match was reduced to 16 overs in each innings due to rain. Chasing the modest total, Army reached at 116/5 in 15.2 overs.[break]
Pradeep Airee scored 27 runs for APF as Chandra Sawad and Rahul Vishwakarma claimed two wickets each for Army.
Army team captain Binod Bhandari remained unbeaten with 29 runs to seal the easy victory. Anil Mandal contributed 23 runs for Army. Paras Khadka took two wickets for the APF.
