My spirit is my God
That keeps me going
That pulls me out of despair
The only entity I feel obliged to please.
My God is nameless
Wears no mask of religion and caste
Observes me from within myself
Stops me from doing bad.
My spirit is a guiding force
Even when shattered into pieces
I can rise from the ashes like a phoenix
As long as my spirit isn’t dying.
My God doesn’t demand
My God is easy to please
I can say with pride I love my God
Because my spirit is my God.
