KATHMANDU, June 13: The Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) on Saturday said a weak surge of monsoon has entered in the eastern parts of Nepal today.
Going by the traditional monsoon forecasting in Nepal, June 10 is considered as the standard date for the onset of monsoon.
“Conditions are favorable for progressive westward advancement of monsoon in remaining parts of the country over the next few days,” MFD said is a weather bulletin.
Nepal receives 80 percent of rainfall from monsoon rains. These clouds after originating from the Bay of Bengal enter Nepal through the eastern corner. The intensity of rain and its measurement varies from place to place.
