BHADRAPUR, Sept 11: A woman in Jhapa district succumbed to the beating of her husband Saturday morning.
Twenty-four-year old Mihari Khatun of Pathamari VDC-9 died after her husband Asir Miyan had beat severely, according to Jhapa District Police Office.[break]
Miyan beat up Khatun severely on Friday afternoon over a family dispute and she felt unconscious last night, police said, adding that Khatun died on the way to Baniyani Health Center for treatment.
Asir Miyan has been arrested in connection with the incident.
220 kg ganja, 5 kg charas seized
PARSA, Sept. 11: A huge quantity of ganja and charas was seized Thursday night at Mirjapur-9, Parsa.
A team of police from Armed Police Border Security Post, Bhiswa, confiscated 220 kg ganja and 5 kg charas being taking to India. When police team reached Bagmari, some unidentified drug peddlers left the contraband and escaped.
Police Inspector Dan Bahadur Rai said the seized ganja and chras has been handed over to the District Police Office, Parsa, for necessary action.
