Chairman of the Madhesi People's Rights Forum-Nepal (MPRF-N) Upendra Yadav strongly opposed the understanding reached among the leaders from Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and UCPN (Maoist).
"Any decision taken by the three-party syndicate cannot be acceptable to all nor will other parties be obliged to follow it," Yadav told Republica. "There is a need for national consensus but the three-party decision cannot be termed so."
He said any move aimed at producing the new constitution without settling the issues of state restructuring is objectionable.
MPRF-Democratic Chief Whip Ramjanam Chaudhary, however, hailed the development. He said the understanding has ended months-long deadlock and that it should be given continuity in the days to come.
"The country has been held a hostage of indecision for months. Now the deadlock has ended. Also, other remaining unresolved disputes should be settled in consensus," Chaudhary told Republica.
