ITAHARI, Aug 31: Transport services in eastern districts have remained unaffected since early Wednesday morning following withdrawal of the strike earlier called by a faction of Federal Limbuwan State Council.
The group had withdrawn the three-day strike beginning last Monday after a government talks team and representatives of the ethnic body struck a five-point deal on addressing the Council’s demands. [break]
Its demands include timely promulgation of the new statute by the extended deadline, provision of an autonomous Limbu state constituting nine district east of the Arun River and improvement in security situations, among other things.
