LAHAN, May 12: A mother and her son were killed and two others of the same family were injured when lightning struck their house at Rampur Thoksila in Udayapur district Tuesday morning.
Asha Kunwar, 35, and her 3-year-old son Laxman Kunwar died on the spot after the lightning struck them in their sleep, said Pashupatinath Dotel, deputy superintendent of police at the District Police Office, Udayapur.
The injured, Hari Bahadur Kunwar and Dhan Bahadur Kunwar, are being treated at the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan. Police said both of them are out of danger.
