BIRATNAGAR, Aug. 28: Raj Kumar Lekhi, former chairman of the Tharu Welfare Assembly, has ruled out possibility of talks with the government in 'present condition'.
Lekhi's fresh statement comes at a time when the government is calling the agitators to come for talks to end the existing political impasse.He, however, said that they have some conditions-- release of Tharus arrested earlier, withdrawal of the mobilisation of Nepal Army in the riot-hit areas and lifting of curfew among others--to be addressed before going for talks.
Speaking at a news conference in Biratnagar today, Lekhi pointed out that their agitation was not a struggle against any single race, community, area and geography, but against unitary regime.
He hoped that their agitation would get a success as 'all Madhesi, Dalits and Muslims have expressed their solidarity with it'.
He accused the media and various human rights organisations of disseminating imbalance news about the August 24 Tikapur incident that had killed nine persons, mostly police personnel and expressed his sadness over the incident. RSS
