KATHMANDU, Oct 9: The lawmakers of the Legislature-Parliament have demanded to ensure the smooth supply of petroleum products even by clamping a state of emergency.

Speaking at the Public Account Committee meeting on Friday, lawmakers criticized the government for being a mute spectator even though the country is reeling under the fuel crunch due to the 'unofficial' economic blockade inhumanly imposed by India.

The lawmakers suggested that if the supplies of petroleum products have been blocked due to protestors, the government should impose state of emergency to ease the supply.

They suggested that the inhuman blockade imposed by Indian be internalized seeking the remedy to the violations of transit rights of the landlocked country like Nepal.
