Karki recommended for AG position

KATHMANDU, Oct 14: The government on Wednesday recommended senior advocate Hari Krishna Karki, who is the current chairman of Nepal Bar Association, for appointment as the next Attorney General.

According to government spokesperson Minister for Law and Justice Agni Kharel, the prime minister has forwarded Karki's name for the position of the chief legal advisor to the government.

President Ram Baran Yadav will approve his name and the swearing-in will take place on Thursday. Baburam Kunwar, the attorney general, appointed by the erstwhile Prime Minister Sushil Koirala, resigned after CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli was elected Prime Minister on Sunday.
