Jayanagar-Bardibas railway line compensation distribution begins

BARDIBAS, Nov 29: The task of allocating compensation for land acquired in Mahottari district for the expansion of proposed Jayanagar-Bardibas broad gauge railway line has started.

According to the District Administration Office, Mahottari, the compensation distribution task has begun in seven village development committees. Land in ten VDCs has been acquired for the extension of railway line.[break]

The compensation distribution is task is taking place at Mahadaiyatpanpur, Ratauli, Khuttapipradhi, Dhamaura, Loharpatti, Singhgyahi and Bhangaha and so far over Rs. 12.5 million has been allocated to the owners of acquired and, Chief District Officer Madhusudan Burlakoti said.

The DAO said the details of land acquired at Kishannagar, Pashupatinagar and Bardibas VDCs are still awaited. It is learnt Rs. 190 million has been allocated for the compensation distribution in Dhanusha and Mahottari districts. With the distribution of compensation amount, the railway line expansion task is expected to begin soon, engineer with the Rail and Metro Development Project, Jayanagar Bardibas Office, Nawaraj Bhatta, said.
