Govt saddened by Korea deaths

KATHMANDU, May 25: Nepal has condemned the sinking of the South Korean corvette Cheonan by a North Korean torpedo and killing of 46 people in the March 26 incident.



We condemn the troubling incident resulting in the loss of 46 lives and express condolences to the government of South Korea and the bereaved families, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Wednesday.



The government´s condemnation comes after an official inquiry concluded North Korea´s involvement in the sinking of the corvette Cheonan. The incident has resulted into fresh tension in the Korean peninsula.
