KATHMANDU, March 4: The government has decided not to move forward with the land-related ordinance for now.

CPN-UML Chief Whip Mahesh Bartaula said that the other five ordinances will be presented for approval in the House of Representatives tomorrow, while the land-related ordinance will be withheld.

A proposal was also presented in the central committee meeting of the Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal, which began on Sunday, not to approve the land ordinance under any circumstances. The government was forced to step back after the Loktantrik Samajwadi Party also did not agree with this ordinance.

On January 13, President Ram Chandra Paudel issued four ordinances on good governance, financial procedures, privatization, and financial procedures. The land-related ordinance was issued on January 15, and the cooperative-related one was issued on January 27.
